Memory: Harold Edward Fuller |
Harold Edward Fuller, 81, of Independence, MO, joined his wife, Sue, in their eternal home on August 16, 2009. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, with a Masonic service at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19th, at the Park Lawn Chapel, Hillcrest Road at 83rd Street, Kansas City. A funeral service celebrating Harold’s life will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 20th, at the chapel. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund (a fund that supports the transportation and accommodations for the Shrine’s children patients and their families to Shrine Hospitals), 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129 or to the charity of the donor’s choice. |

Harold was born September 30, 1927 in Macon County, MO, the son of Floyd Earl and Gladys Irene (Bennett) Fuller. He graduated from the Clarence (MO) High School. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Suzanne Marie “Sue” Fuller in 2004. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1948. He was a carpenter for 45 years and a member of the Carpenters’ Union. Harold retired as a construction superintendent for Winn-Senter Construction Company.
Harold was a 50-year member of East Gate Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite Valley of Kansas City. He was a very dedicated member of Ararat Shrine Temple, serving three terms as president of the Lotawana Shrine Club, a member of the former Lotawana Boaters, and the Ararat Provost. For more than four decades, Harold volunteered countless hours at Ararat as a Provost member and promoting its annual circus fundraiser, and earned 385 crown jewel awards for his service. He was also a member of the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 21.
Survivors include his two children and their spouses, Sharon and Ted Kalthoff, and David and Laura Fuller; his sister, Maxine Stroble; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
