In Memory: Charles Carter Hamilton
Charles Carter Hamilton of Shawnee, KS. Died Tuesday May 26th 2009, Services will be held at Leavenworth Military Cemetery on Friday May 29th at 1:30 PM. A Celebration of his life will be held at Overland Park Lutheran Church on Saturday May 30th at 6:30 PM.

Carter was born on February 9, 1931. In Pittsburg, KS to Carleton E. and Mary Alice Hamilton. He was an Eagle Scout and a Member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Rest Easy Little Kingfisher He served in the US Army in Korea. Carter was a 50 year member of Ivanhoe Lodge #446 Kansas City Mo. where he served various offices, including Worshipful Master of the Lodge. Carter was a member of the Scottish Rite of Kansas City where after retirement he spent many years in the coat room for the functions that were there, and enjoyed the company of the people of Kansas City as well as his Brothers. He was a member of Ararat Shrine in Kansas City where he was involved in everything from the Circus, Hospital Committee, and his favorite unit the Oriental band. While he was busy in retirement he loved going to the Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders, to work with the children. He also traveled many times to the Shrine Hospital for Children taking Children for Doctors appointments.

He is survived by his wife Joan (Lanyon) of 56 years, his sister and her Husband David and Shirley Cook of Sarasota Fl, three Sons and Daughters in law, Carleton and Joni of Minneapolis, MN. Mark and Shiela of Parkville, Robert and Julianne of Parkville. Grandsons Sean, Greg , Josh& Zach and Granddaughters Allison and Aime. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to The Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders or the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation fund.
