In Memory: Walter "Ray" Philpott
Walter "Ray" Philpott, 85, passed away January 21, 2012. Funeral service will be 10am, Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Floral Hills. Burial will follow. Visitation and Masonic service will be Monday evening 6-8pm at the chapel. Ray led a full and varied life including: professional/rodeo cowboy, musician, truck driver, heavy equipment operator (Myco), Mason (Past Master Lodge #13), Ararat Shrine (Drum and Bugle Corps, Transporters, and other clubs), and Eagles. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Independence. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Verne; son, Kenneth; brother, Jack; sister, Veda; sister-in-law, Judith. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kathy; children: Jerry, Sheila (Doug) and Maria; brothers: Dale (Dalene), George (Sharon), Don, sister-in-law, Naomi; granddaughters: Alex, Kandra and Abby and great-grandson, Breven "Boots," and numerous loving family members.
