The Ararat Guides were originally formed as the Medical Corps. The Guides adopted their present name in 1945.

The Guides Flag Unit marches in all parades as a Uniformed Unit and carries the fifty flags of the United States.

This unit is is one of Ararat Shrine's most colorful units.
